GEICO Claims – Bravo!!!

My stepson and his wife live in Mississippi. Fortunately, he is on deployment out of the US and she is here in Maine so they both are safe.

As far as they know the storage unit their stuff and car were in has been destroyed. Here is the email their insurance company, GEICO, sent out the other day. Great to see service, GEICO. A disaster like this is when an insurer can prove its value. GEICO seems to be rising to the challenge.

I don’t think my insurance company even has my email! Maybe I should talk to GEICO.

Government Employees Insurance Company

We hope that you and those close to you are safe and doing well in the wake of the recent hurricane.

As your insurance company, we understand that when a weather catastrophe strikes, the most important thing we can do is to make the claim settlement process as quick and smooth as possible. We take that responsibility very seriously.

Should you need to report a claim, please call 1-800-841-3000, or visit us online. As always, we are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our claims staff has been working around the clock since the storm made landfall. We have already deployed our catastrophe team and adjusters have begun inspecting damaged automobiles, both in the field and at our drive-in locations. Our catastrophe team will remain deployed until all hurricane claims are resolved.

Additionally, in recognition of the disruption and hardship a hurricane of this magnitude can cause, GEICO has suspended mailing cancellation notices for policyholders in the areas most affected by Hurricane Katrina.

We appreciate your business and look forward to continuing to serve you.

Sincerely,
Tony Nicely, Chairman
