Workers’ Compensation – What Rates Are In States?

I have posted in the past about Oregon’s most excellent analysis of their workers’ compensation rates. From that analysis we get to see where all the states rank.

The most interesting part for me is Appendix Four, where rates for different workers’ compensation employment codes are displayed.  The rate differences are staggering.

Carpentry: California $15.55 per $100 in payrolls – Ohio $3.05

So, a carpentry shop with $500,000 in payroll is paying $77,750 in California and $15,250 in Ohio.
